Malbrook - Custom Designed Detail
All Malbrook Conservatories, Orangeries, Garden Rooms, Roof Lanterns and Folding Sliding Doors are unique. No two are exactly the same; we do not work from standard modules that are waiting in our workshops. We do not make Conservatories or Orangeries for any other companies.
Site visit
When the Malbrook designer/architect comes to your house to discuss your requirements, whether for an Orangery, Conservatory, Garden Room Roof Light, Folding Sliding Doors, a Glazed Extension or a Veranda, we will listen to your requirements and ideas before offering our suggestions. You will notice the difference in the knowledgeable and consultative approach.
“Bring the garden into the house. Not literally, but make it accessible and enjoyable from the house. Glass doors are a good idea as is outdoor lighting. View the garden from another room.” Daily Telegraph Property Section July 24th 2010.
About Us / Ask for a Visit
We will then prepare drawings and a quotation. Usually we provide a watercolour of your house showing the proposed Orangery or Conservatory extension or a model is made to help you envisage the final project more clearly. We offer modern / contemporary or traditional designs. Ask for a Visit
If you already have some drawings (maybe your own sketches or architect designs) of the proposed Garden Room why not let Malbrook give you an estimate from those? We will also offer some of our own suggestions, if you would like us to do so.
Once your individual design has been agreed and a contract for your Conservatory, Orangery or Garden Room has been signed, one of our qualified surveyors will prepare the final drawings and agree the fine details with you.
Timber / Wood
The timber for your Conservatory or Orangery will be selected by Malbrook from the highest quality hardwood that is the most suitable for the project. Perhaps you have decided to have a stained or painted finish – or maybe you have chosen Green Oak. Technical Information / Timber
Glass / Glazing
We usually double-glaze our Conservatories, Orangeries and Roof Lanterns using Argon filled double glazed units. However sometimes we are required to restore, for example, an old Victorian greenhouse where single glazing has been specified. Technical Information / Glazing
Paint / stain colours
Your choice of colour is entirely up to you. Malbrook will paint or stain samples for you to consider and even match a favourite or unusual colour. We will also paint the inside of the timber a different colour to the exterior timber, if required. Technical Information / Painting and Finishing
Rainwater goods
We use cast or extruded aluminium or Marley Classic guttering. All aluminium guttering can be powder coated to match your Conservatory or Orangery, if required. In conservation areas, or where a heritage building is listed, we use more traditional products, such as cast iron. We will also powder coat the exterior aluminium roof caps to the colour of your choice.Technical Information / Rainwater Goods
Door and Window Fittings
Ironmongery can be chosen to suit both the Conservatory, Orangery or Glazed Extension and the adjacent room or the house itself. We offer a choice of brass or polished or satin chrome as standard but some clients prefer stainless steel or have their own favourites, which can be used as long as the fittings comply with British Standards and insurance requirements. Interiors
Before your Conservatory or Orangery is installed you should try to consider the interior. For example you will probably want to consider under floor heating. You will need advice on what floor options are open to you. Interiors
